HD Cleaners
With the increasing development of medium consistency screens with small holes and with fine slots, HD cleaners provide protection against rapid wear of the baskets. As they eliminate heavy and highly abrasive particles, they are also essential for the protection of any other rotating equipment such as pumps.
Kadant has three types of cleaners:
- HD Cyclone (EPE)
- Liquid Cyclone
- CT IRD HD cleaner
Working Principle
Stock is introduced tangentially at high speed in the upper part of the HD cleaner at medium consistency (from 3 to 5%). The main flow is attracted by the central vortex whereas heavy particles are centrifuged until they reach the lower part of the cleaner. A counter pressure flow with white water is generally introduced to create a perfect separation of these heavy contaminants and the remaining fibres to produce a fibre free reject.
All HD Cleaners are fully automatical and can be installed as one stage (discontinuous) or two stages (first stage continuous).
